It's All Perspective

Let me guess.

You bounced a painful amount of checks last week.
Your car died on the way to work this morning and needs $300 worth of repairs.
You found out you have termites…two days after your bond expired.

Ah, the challenges of daily life for the average American.

When these petty things—yes, I did say petty—make you feel like throwing your phone at the wall (creating a nice dent in the drywall to repair), think about this…

If you bounced a check, it probably means you have a job so you can have a checking account to put the money in you make from your job. Be grateful for that.

No job? At least you have the capability and the desire to get one and aren’t sitting in a hospital ward pondering the color of your padded walls.

About the dead car. Again, at least you HAVE a car. And when it does run, it’s probably worth more than the $500 to repair it. If not, you can be grateful we have public transportation. Don’t like the bus? Walking is great exercise.

And oh, yes, the termites. Just think, you could be back in an apartment with your neighbors dancing on your ceiling at 2am or having to park 4 blocks from your front door. At least you own a house (in partnership with the bank, of course).

We all have something to be grateful for. It’s all perspective.
